gabrielle hodge is a deaf linguist specialising in signed languages.
My research asks how we use our bodies to communicate, and what social and interactional factors influence the choices we make. I also love doing projects that improve outcomes for deaf people and enable better understanding of deaf lives.
I grew up in Canberra, Australia, on Ngunnawal Country. I did my BA (Hons) in Linguistics at La Trobe University in Melbourne, and my PhD in Linguistics at Macquarie University in Sydney.
